A race of humanoids who live on a high-gravity planet. Thick boned and short, they resemble a race known as Dwarves from fantasy stories. Their home world is one filled with plenty of minerals, and their original settlement reason was to mine for rare ores. Merchants, miners, mercenaries, body guards, and soldiers are often their go to occupations.
You have the following racial traits.
Resilient. Due to living in harsh environments, your Constitution increases by 3.
Age. Duergar live into their mid second century, often reaching the age of 150. The oldest recorded Duergar is said to have lived unti they were 212 though. They’re considered young until they reach the age of 30.
Alignment. Most duergar are lawful, believing in some sort of code. They tend toward good as well, with a strong sense of equality and a belief that everyone deserves the benefits of order.
Size. Duergar reach just shy of 5 feet tall and average about 180 pounds. Your size is Medium. If a duergar is any less than 4 feet then they are considered small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet. Your speed is not reduced by wearing heavy armours.
Darksight. Accustomed to dark or dimly lit environments, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 50 feet of you as if it were normal light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can not see colours in the dark, but you can see pale shades in dim light.
Duergar Resilience. You have advantage on saving throws against toxic gas and poisons, and you have resistance against toxic and poison damage.
Duergar Training. You have proficiency with Axes, Hammers,and the pneumatic drill, bolt pistol, and bolt rifle.
Tool Proficiency. You gain proficiency with a tool of your choice from a smith’s toolset, mason’s toolset, or merchant's supplies.
Ore Knowledge. Whenever you make an Intelligence check related to that of stonework or craftmanship, you are considered proficient in the Insight skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Terran and Duergan. Duergan is full of deep and harsh sounds, and many duergar find it difficult to speak fluently in other languages on account of their harsh accents.
